SECUND T0 NONE IN '81! f -- . ......... 1 , I 5:1 - vw' s AY ma. Q . '..-4. .. 1. . '.' t' -'.'-A' 2 .,..'. N The year 1981 at I-SC was one to remember. The Student Council really got going this year with such events as: Iran-Hostage Day, Mock Elections, Class Olympics and enabling the students to wear shorts, lweather permittingl. The student body elected Mark Clayton, a junior, as student council president. This was the first year a junior had ever been elected as president. Newly established career forums were held at various times throughout the year, dealing with such topics as: accounting, nursing, and clerical fields. Nineteen hundred and eighty-one for the United States was one filled with concern and dignity for our country. After 444 days, we awaited the arrival of the 52 hostages on their way home from lran. President Carter was defeated in this year's presidential election, by Governor Ronald Reagan, of California. After three short months in office, an attempted assassination was made on Reagan's life. Not only did the president suffer, but so did Pope John Paul ll. He was shot five times at St. Peter's Cathedral during an early morning mass.
