N S: THE GRADE WATCHERS New members: First row: Sandy Elfrink, Yancy Poorman, john Enderle. Second row: Kenneth Schlegel, Tina Kendel, jeff Enderle, Barbi Davis, Debbie Pikey, Terry Holder. Third row: Roger Blankenship, Mark Clayton, jeff Konrad, Lori Goodman, john Blattel, Keith Hinkebein, Rosemary Eagan. Along with the other established traditions, such as valograms, Christmas stockings, and the Big Brother-Big Sister program, NHS also added a new project to its list. ln November, each member drew from a hat the name of hisfher new secret teacher. Some members drew twice. Each NHS member was responsible for doing something thoughtful for their teacher once a month, in an effort to show their appreciation. It could be a card, flower, gift, or whatever. The only catch was that it must remain a secret. In May, the secret pals revealed their identity to the teachers. . N. f wi f ix .. wer If As a tradition, junior and sophomore members provided a farewell banquet for the senior NHS members. This year the ceremony was held at the Port Cape restaurant on May 14th. Dr. H. O. Grauel was guest speaker for the fourth year in a row. He spoke on learning by experience . Little brothers and sisters presented the honor cords and collars to their big brothers and sisters. As usual, it was a sad farewell. It was made even sadder by the fact that this was sponsor, Sonja Reimann's last year at I-SC. No one was more sorry to see her go than her NHS'ers . 1. Kim and Heraleen present Mrs. Reimann with a few gifts of appreciation. 2. Parents and members chat after the ceremonies. 3. Senior NHS members wear their cords and collars with pride. 4.
