THE SPAN-1932 Impreffiom at an Ulmmu Banca LlTTI.E girls in bunny jackets- Gayly colored velvet wraps in Fords and Cadillacs- Bright lipsticks changing cherry lips to scarlet- Small satin slippers tapping expectantly- Miss lllman nodding graciously over orchids and lilies-of-the-valley- Miss Thorpe's pleasant greeting and Miss Matlack's charming smile- The magnificent tapestry of the dance Hoor- Gold net and glittering sequins accentuating white shoulders and dull red gold hair- Black tafleta with a huge geranium bow- Turquoise blue velvet and lustrous white satin- Slim white hands fluttering against black cheviot- Iridescent crystals lighting the ever-changing pattern- On the stage black and white marionettes gesticulating and pufhng- Hovering lingers of the pianist swooping down to strike his prey- Shriek of the trumpet, moan of the saxophone, staccato taps of the drum- Penthouse Serenade, Was that the Human Thing to Do - Arch glances and coy giggles- Dignity and obvious subtlety- A shy little maid being vivacious- Subdued laughter and shrill chatter- A whirl of gardenia and Christmas Night - Good-night Sweetheart -a stillness that is felt above the shullle of feet- Blithe farewells- Childs'-Spanish omelet and butter cakes.
