Have you ever stood on a hill top Watching the rising sung And felt the poignant beauty Of a day thatis just begun? Do you know that moment of ecstasy When the curtain is raised on the play, And the passions of past and present Are completely swept away? Do you think human joys and sorrows Are measured by yards and feet, That life may be locked in a storeroom, A trinket we buy and keep? Life's gifts are fragile and Heetingp And no man may ever say, 'This I will keep forever. It is only his for the day.
