Some friends are gone, those we miss. Turn the pages and reminisce. 3 Ramrod strikes again!! Dedication Mrs. Hurley joined the teaching staff in 1966 and spent many hours teach- ing Home Economics, Family Living, and art. She was also the F.H.A. sponsor. Love for her stu- dents was seen in her con- tinued efforts to update the department to keep up with the changing times. Mrs. Hurley still attends graduations, weddings, and other important events in the lives of her students and former stu- dents. Today during her retirement she is enjoying life to the fullest extent! 4 Each time you see a rainbow May the beauty you find there Remind you that the warmest thoughts Are with you everywhere Top Of The Rainbow Front Row L. to R.-R. It would have helped if we would have had a float to win with but we wanted to give the classes a chance. Our class was a shrewd business cooperative working together to sell soda from the machine we received from the Roese Bowl. We also sold pretzels and during football season sold jackets which turned out to be a SUPERIOR decision. Our class gave much support to the extra cur- ricular activities such as having a wild time. Sev- eral of our classmates were in varsity sports. Honor Roll Club, Jets Competition, and girl fights. There is only one question left to be asked. What will they ever do without us here to liven the place up? Class Officers: 1st row (1 to r) Pres. Daniel Henebry, Vice Pres. Andy Miller, Sec.-Treas. All of the school sports consist of many of our fellow classmates. We are proud of them, and also of the Juniors who par- ticipated in the honor roll club and J.E.T.S. com- petition. Again this year, with all the hard work and class participation, our float turned out to be a fabulous Win-nie. Our only money-making pro- ject was the “Urge” variety of candy we sold. Our prom this year will be held at the Forum, with the theme song Open Arms and the col- ors Burgundy and Silver. The highlight of this year is prom, and next year — Florida! Sometimes it isn’t put together all the way, but we seem to manage. Our money making project was selling bal- loons filled with helium. This project helped make our “Florida Money” rise. We have a lot of classmates who participate in almost every sport that I.H.S. has, and we excel in all of them. We hope that our next two years at old I.H.S. will be better and go a lot faster!!!! Wood St. Decatur, IL 62521 Ph. 428-8314 Publishing the 1981-82 Pirate Log has been a year filled with colorful excitement. As edi- tor I encountered numerous problems and long hours that always seemed to pay off when we sealed the envelope for shipment. I would like to thank my staff for always being there when Miss Slater, Winnie, and I needed them the most. Also, thank you to Ke- vin Kaylor for the football pictures he donated and to Borsay Studio for the professional pho- tography in our book. As you turned the pages of this book I hope that at least one picture caught your eye and brought back a special memory. So remember today and every day you live ...
