KARL BACH Dedication 75 ■v jW : •—— 77—T Mrs. Kmetz (better known as Mrs. Bliler around school) resigned last year to begin a new step in her life-marriage. She was our district music teacher who devoted many hours of her time to the arts. Her bubbling personality is missed by us, as Mrs. B. always greeted her students with a smile. Often you would hear her singing as she raced down the halls. Her concerts, musicals, and presenta- tions always brought favorite melodies and pleasant memories to all. 3 ACROSS 1. I should have gone to Waterbed Creation! This year due to the Junior Class of 82. the parking lot was full almost everyday. Selling candy was our money making project this year. The crowds noticed our fluctuating prices now and then with us making the best of it. Although our float didn’t place, it was a great “eye catcher with the stationary parts of our float want- ing to see what was behind them. The big excitement of the year was getting our class rings which were traded, loat, or put away with- in a few days. Also we had several of our classmates that partici- pated in varsity sports, the Honor Roll Club, and the Jets Competion. Jubilant Sophomores show their loyalty. This year our class participated and succeded in many events. We put a lot of hard work into our float and it paid off, because we got first place. The JV foot- ball team, which consisted of mostly sophomores, went undefeated, with the support of our three sophomore cheer- leaders. This year was great, but look out next year, because then we’ll be upper- classmen. 22 Class Of 1984 1st row. L. to R.: J.D. Royce-Treasurer, S. Curry-V. Pres., M. Karrick-Pres., K. Our lifesized float “came in for a landing but it did not “fly away with a victory At homecoming our bonfire was also a great success. HA! HA! Many freshmen were active in sports this year. We are proud of their competitive spirit. As you know, freshmen get picked on! We could be a great success in the arcade business since we have had some experience in the hallway as be- ing “pinballs” We are looking forward to the next 3 years so we can play the game Traumatic experiences! The other teams just seemed to work a little harder for the win than the Pirates did and managed to prevail in the end. Several individuals posted good games throughout the year but not enough good performances could be put together to bring about more victories. The J.V. team, however, enjoyed one of their best years in a long time even though they played without two players for most of the year that were on the varisty. The Freshman team also posted a winning year as both teams worked hard to improve throughout the year. Supporters of the team L. to R. - Coach R. Albright, Captain R. This is your commentator Jeff “Straight Hair” Stout. Here we are flocked around the red carpet awaiting the arrival of the renowned members of the class of 1981. First to arrive is Joe Hawkins, of course it only took him 15 seconds. Now arriving are three members of the Cincinatti Reds. Danny C.ordy plays first base considering that is all the farther he ever got. Bob Proctor is the teams home run hitter. And last, but not least is Todd Richards who has always been good at catching flies. Kevin Carey, owner of a nearby pawn shop has donated a considerable amount of this evenings tokens which you will receive at the door when you leave. Approaching next is Jana Hohenstein. Escorting her is Tom Ertl. Jana has designed Tom’s suit for this evenings festive event. This suit includes the new design, the No-Neck Line. Jana won’t be with us very long this evening because professional clothing designer Terri Gist has unanimously beat her. Terri almost didn’t make it here tonight for Dennis removed the scaffling from the side of the house. HEADS UP!! Coming in for a crash landing is Greg Griesheim. His all weather gage, Nancee Johnson, must have malfunc- tioned. We realize that Greg didn’t suffer any insuries int he crash. His first words were, “Do you have any gum.” Whats that disturbing noise? Sounds like a siren. I mean Sandy Stone. Wonder what happened? It appears Brett McLaughlin was giving Penny McLaughlin last minute posture lessons, and apparenly she tripped on a roll in the carpet. Steve Carey, who is known for motorheadin’, is the ambulance driver. Ambulance attendant, Jim Ciotti, is now putting the stretcher on Penny. Seems Jim is a little mixed up today. Lets go talk with Dianne Stewart and Kay Seay. “So, how are things going today ladies?” “Well, pretty good, but we sure are thirsty.” “Is there anything to drink?” “Hey, Its Koolaid.” We knew we could count on Miss Gale. As the ceremony is about to begin. I’m looking around to see if veryone is present. Brian and Sherryl must still be sitting in the parking lot. Ladies and Gentlemen, I proudly introduce spokesman for the award ceremony this evening, Judd Waddell. Judd will now conduct the rest of the ceremony. “Good evening everyone.” I’m very honored to present Dave Henebry a snotties kleenex for the little bit of boogie left in him. Approaching the podium is Verna McMahan who will present the C Flat award to Lisa Hemp. Verna says, “Lisa better move to Texas.” This year two new moves were nominated - How To Get A Truck Stuck Between Two Trees - starring Devin Dudas and - Mudwrestler - co-starring Judy Leonard and Guy Hawkins. Since all casting was so outstanding, these movies both will receives awards. Tami Betzer who has become the new Chrissy Snow of Three’s Company will award the presentation of the final award. Coach Smalling and Daniel Warnick will be given look alike dolls. As this evening draws to a close, several of tonight’s guests have been unmentioned. Allen Bilbrey and Barry Martin have opened a new business together. Barry wrecks em’ and Allen rebuilds em’. Raymond Ric hards is posing as the centerfold in this months issue of Mr. Muscle magazine. Since Lisa Rueck has become so money hungry her new food chains are opening throughout Central Illinois. It has been announced from the Whitehouse that Jay Ealey and Scott Whiteside were trying to conquer a whole country alone and are now P.O.W.’s in Siberia. Hot off the press is Pam Bell with the latest article on pro-basketball star player Paula Kapper. Well, that’s just a brief summary of what has been going on with the class of 1981. Hey, what’s happening? The walls are shaking. Oh. it’s just Rich Mendenhall riding his motorcycle with Helen German hanging on tight. As we turn the spotlight center stage John Dobrinsky is still sitting there in the middle saying, “Why didn’t I get an award?” Mis Slater is with John trying to pry him off the stage. We’re glad to see she could make it because Miss Slater has so much extra she has to do. Now, as the crowd is all gone and as always Alisa Purcell is still standing on the stage veiling “LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME! 69 Senior Honors Henry Bunn Memorial Scholarship Stengel Award D.A.R.
