She was a devoted and understanding friend of Illinois Wesleyan University.

As professor of mathematics, registrar, burscir, secre- tary of the Joint Board of Trustees and OHicial Visitors, manager ofthe book- store, he was untiring in his devotion to the tasks assigned him. A genial friend, loyal to his schools, his church, his community, he exemplified the highest ideals of Christian manhood.
