Beanies, beanies everywhere . . . Blue beanies are a com- mon sight around the campus during the nine week pledge period. A A few years ago, Lambda Pi Omicron was organized by some men of the junior college to fill a void in the social life of men of the college. This year, it sponsored many activities which pro- vided a healthy outlet for the energies of the college men. One of the fraternity's first projects was a clothing drive for the hospital in Dixon. During the first of two dances sponsored in the first semester, pledges received their beanies amid some ceremony. Members accompanied the sorority to a Christmas party for the children in the or- phanage in Princeton. Caroling at area hospitals was a joint effort of the fraternity and the sorority. In 1963, dances and a co-rec night were also very suc- cessful. Dances sponsored by the fraternity during the couse of the year were well attended by students of the college. The evenings were spent dancing to the strains of various bands. The girls' gym became the scene of much activity. Guess who's clowning around, right, at an early year fra- ternity dance? Why it's John Dow, of course. 19
