Dedication A happy part of the task of every educational institution worthy of the name is the nurturing of the inner man . Much of this responsibility for satisfying the students' desire for the finer things in life falls on the shoulders of the Fine Arts depart- ment. We at L-P-O are fortunate in possessing a department that need not take a hack seat to any among comparable Junior Colleges. Through the efforts of our faculty in Fine Arts, Mr. Roy Johnson in vocal music, Mr. Darryl Fetters in instrumental music, Mr. Edward Edwards in art, and Mrs, Myrna Evans in dramatics, each L-P-O student is enabled to take as much time in this field as his interest and talent allow. Through the Radio Club, Dramatic Club, Band, and art classes our students have outlets for their artistic cravings and abilities. The vocal music department in particular has shown to the public the fruit of interest and endeavor. Last year's Annie Get Your Gun was the springboard for an extra performance of this year's magnificent SbowBoat. Because of what these and the other Fine Arts areas have meant to L-P-O and our entire community, we gratefully dedicate to this department our 1960 Jaycee. Highlight of the first semester in I..-P-O's vocal music department is the annual Christmas concert. Below is the Junior College choir featured in the 1959 Concert. FIRST ROW: Vacla Bennett, Pearl Brennan, Sue Seymour, Becky Bly, Deanna Starkey, Judy Oresar, and Susie Eschenbaum. SECOND ROW: Mary Mersch, Marcia Woltmann, Jeannie Hill, Carolyn Cox, Eleanor Corrigan, Donna Trad, Evelyn Jereb, and Andrea Dzdk. THIRD ROW: Bob Jacobs, Jerry Swanson, Stan Boyer, Jim Bennett, Alan Spelich, and Jim Jaskolski. FOURTH ROW: Merrill Birgerson, Allen Flowers, Dave Morgan, Bob Smith, Dave Simkins, Gilbert Goy, and Merel Marine.
