X ,S 4 Ya fffii? Z' Pictured at left is Mr. Edward E. Ed- wards, head of L-P-O's Art Department. Mr. Edwards' classes in Art Education classes prepare future teachers for instructing grade schoolers in artistic expression. One of the most valuable parts of the course is the opportunity given the students to test their own skills in creating . Other pictures on this page show some of them at work. Experience is the best teacher say Leslie Brydon and Rae Zukowski as they prepare works in Art Class. Leslie is filling in color on a portrait sketch, while Rae makes a place mat from soda straws. The importance of these activities is emphasized by the ever increasing attention being paid to art and a.rt appreciation in today's schools. These students not only expose themselves to potentially fine recreational activity but also learn to teach apprecia- tion of the finer things to others. iq-' Anil , ,...--..fn-X Haig: I-lere's mud fwell, clayj in your eye say Dick Wells, Cathy Petroski, and Arleen Wyszynski as they labor over their molding projects. One of the projects that is harder than it looks, molding from clay takes hours of patient work if the end product is to be satisfactory, , . In addition to the all-important shaping, the projects must be dried, baked and painted.
