MCCORMACK MEMORIAL LIBRARY The Library of La Salle-Peru-Ogles- by junior College is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Thomas J. McCor- mack, first director of the college. The memorial plaque is here read by two college freshmen, jackie Washel, a graduate of Fort Atkinson High School, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, and Gerald Gmeiner, a graduate of St. Bede Academy, Peru. I gasket -um fun In the main reading room which accommodates 180 readers, the college A ' students work within beautiful surroundings. Two original oils, The A 4 Easter Sacrihcen and The Sacrifice of Abraham, by Francesco Solemina, Q , 1657-1747, are set into the walls, a third original oil, Madonna with Saints, hangs on the wall. In addition to these, the library houses E. Salz- Q man's copies in oil of M. Munkacy's Milton Dictating Paradire Lair, , 1 and V. Brozik's The Emperor Rudolph II in the Laboratory of His Al- I I l pun chemist. A medieval antiphonary hand wrought on vellum is on perma- 1 Wxtvfx CFMW nent display. ' ' lm U The library contains 14,000 books, 2,450 volumes of periodicals, and 3,000 pamphlets.

The reference material in the library is more than adequate for the needs of students and faculty. Here James Flohr, john Baima, Alan Berry, and Robert Hughett use a globe and atlas. Three adjacent conference rooms may be used by small groups for study and discussion.
