SECRETARIES Betty Beddow What would we do without secretaries? Secre- taries are always there when you need them-ready to tend to your needs. They fill the gap between the administration, students, and parents. Skilled in many ways they type, take letters, keep rec- ords, and most of all work directly with the stu- dents. They also work with the administration to better the school system. Secretaries are the sec- ret to a successful office. n [_____ _i ixfcru L. Another Student Council member enjoys her food. A great year it will be for Student Council 72-73. That wasn't the intended motto, but it could have easily been. For IVC's Student Council this year truly did have a successful year. A new thing called 'mini-courses' were intro- duced which enabled students AND teachers to learn more about a subject of interest without the usual teacher-student atmosphere, and most of all without grades. The '72 Homecoming was topped off with a fifties' day which really brought to life the Homecoming theme. Again this year, as with last, IVC students supported the IVC Cinema by attending the Student Council sponsored Movie Night which showed Little Big Man. A tribute to our two retiring and respected members of the faculty, namely Mrs. Ward and Mr. Parr, was accomplished by an early morning breakfast-reception during Student Council week. This truly was a rewarding year. CHESS MEMBERS L. TOR. ROW i: D. Wiggins, G. Brown, S. Stedman, Mr. Primm, A. Atkinson, D. Meits Adams. ROW 2: B. Irions, Mr. Fox, T. Svihla, R. Brewer, S. American concern comes to I.V.C. I do my thing, and you do your thing. I am not in this world to live up to your expectations And you are not in this world to live up to mine. You are you and I ?m I, And if by chance we find each other, it's beautiful. —Frederick S. Peris For the class of 1973, its the end of 12 years of study, fun, sadness, disappointment, work, and achievement. Friends have come togeth- er, strayed away, have been found and lost. For the future we have our hopes and our dreams. And though we are both happy and sad about leaving, I.V.C. has given us an influence and change we shall never forget. 162 Senior Hall, which once heard voices of the class of 1973, now hears only echoes. The doors have been opened to the sounds of the world. In September, 1973, I.V.C. will have lost about 50 years of teaching experience with the retirement of Mrs. Ward and Mr. Parr. Besides losing this valuable experience, the school also will have lost two of the best and most respected educators I .V.C. has had. We say thanks to these two people for the help they have given us through the years. W a r 167 It's over! It's through! The day of June 1, 1973 has finally arrived. A lot of work has been put into this year- book, and we hope it holds a lot of memories of the school year 72-73. It reflects our lives in and out of school with all its moments of happiness, disappointment, achieve- ment, sadness, victory, and defeat. A special thanks to Brad Kobischka for his fantastic art work; and to Ken Parker and Randy Hendryx for their photographic talent. And to Mr. Beesley goes a ton of grati- tude for his help and guidance. To the class of 1973: GOOD LUCK in finding your dreams for the future. It's a big world, but we can do it. It's been a memorable year with football, homecoming, wrestling, Senior Hall, Sweetheart Swing, Prom, mini-courses, and being with our friends. The school year 72-73 is now a memory in our minds. It's over. It's through . .. 168
