Homecoming The Stunt Show launched the beginning of the wonderful Homecoming activities. A shout of joy and surprise came from the Iunior class when the judges awarded them the first prize. The combination of Elvis fLeo Stilesl and the name Junior meant luck! The class of '57 with Gramps and his antics was proud of the work that went into the finished product. The entire stunt was written, directed, and Freshman semi--dramatic production. produced by the members of the class. The Sophomore class presented their stunt titled Unbroken Record. Famous vocalists and their records were pantomimed by Sophomores and this stunt was very entertainingC?D. The Prosh. turned out a stunt that was entitled Melodrama, Although they didn't win, the class has three years to redeem themselves. The bowlegs of the S. The bright red engine pulled in to the station with top honors. Through the hard work of the other classes, the Iunior, Sophomore, and Fresh- man floats added a lot to the beauty of the parade. The football game drew Alumni and football Rermniscing Alumni fans from all over. Even though the game resulted in defeat for Chilli, the Homecoming dance was a huge suc- cess! The Queen, Nickie Augustine, and her escort provided the final touch to the dance. The couples danced to the music furnished by Billy Williams. C T Cl I i The three Democratic hopefuls Iim Dolph, Eugene Echterlrng, Speaker of the House Ron Bonatl, and Nickie Augustine. C Mock national conventions and vigorous campaigns were held late in October. For two days one hundred delegates gathered in the gym to elect a Democratic Candidate for President. Nomination speeches were given, and the three nominees were Iim Dolph, Nickle Augustine, and Ron Bonati. The permanent chairman was Eugene Echterling, and Ron Taylor, the key-note speaker. After the voting was completed, Ron Bonati was chosen as the man to represent Adalia Stevenson, and Ron chose Nickie as the person to represent Estes Kefauver. The following week the Republican Convention was held. The nominees for the Re- publican candidates for President were Cassie LeRoy, Norb Lump, and Kaywin McConkey. Mike Stiers was the Republican permanent chairman, and Iim Arnold gave the key-note speech. Ike's representative for our election was Norb Lump who won by an overwhelm- ing majority: Norb chose Kaywin as his running mate to campaign for Dick Nixon. On November 5, the school held its election, and the results were: 60 per cent voted Republican and 40 per cent voted Democrat. All in all, the conventions were a big success. Hail our President!
