Each year during Black History Month, the most talented, intelligent, poised and refined black female is crowned the new Miss Black ISU. The Miss Black ISU Pageant is sponsored and coordinated by the men of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Epsilon Chi Chapter. The young ladies biding for the title are judged in many different areas: poise. intelligibility, talent, essay and participation. M iss Black ISU reigns from March to February. Her duties include public appearances, performances and service duties to ISU campus and the Bloomingtonflxlormal community. She also represents Phi Beta Sigma, Epsilon Chi Chapter in their Regional and National Miss Phi Beta Sigma Pageant. This year's Miss Black ISU is Lamouria Boyd. They are the nation's largest service fraternity, providing service to the nation, the youth, the community, and the campus. They participate in Campus Blood Drives, coordinate food and clothing drives for the community, and hold fund-raisers for many charities.
