26 ADMINISTRATORS CLUB Administrators Club functions under the Department of Educational Administration in the College of Edu- cation. Members cooperated with the university in improving graduate study in school administration. At the two annual meetings, State Senator Paul Symon and President Samuel Braden spoke to the members. ASSOCIATION FOR CHILDHOOD EDUCATION The Association for Childhood Education is the campus organization for Elementary Education maiors. Guest speakers talked to the club, and a panel of grade school students dis- cussed their favorite qualities in a teacher. The members worked on a project to help children. ENGLISH CLUB This year the English Club 'fur' thered its activities in literature and drama. Mr. Lonn Presnell of the Chil- dren's Theater in Normal spoke to the members on the role of creative dra- matics in teaching English, and Dr. Richard Graebel spoke on the life and works of Carl Sandburg. The club also sponsored trips to plays. A quiet morning finds a solitary student on a bench in a far corner of campus. 27
