This is one of the first opportunities for members of all the classes as well as Ezculty and staff to get together and have a good tune. Softball and volleyball provide healthy competition between classes. This year the SL UDS were victorious in the sokball tournament. Congratulations! .. 4, A'-4193? b 'T .ve'8'r-- J.- a -ff- . This required many changes in both the academic program and physical facilities. It takes time to bring about the necessary changes and because of this, your entire student life here was marked by a transitional period for the institution. We thank you for your patience and your understanding during these times. The education you have received at the Illinois College of Optometry will enable you to practice full scope, primary care optometry. You are entering the profession at an exciting time, and I hope you will commit yourselves to become involved in guiding its continued growth and progress. My sincere good wishes for success in your chosen career. Cordially, Boyd B. Banwell, O.D., D.O.S. Case: Mai Ta vs V T Rotation One thing I got out of ICO was to differentiate between a bean bag and a great cushion?? Be- fore my inspiring VT rotation, I had no idea what a bean bag looked like fforeignerlj So on my very Hrst VT victim'Q I was supposed to work with a wayne saccadic fixator and a bean bag for balance . . . you guessed it, my poor patient couldnt even blink to keep that over- sized seat cushion on his head. Dr. Beckerman looked at me, wearily and said: Nice try Mai Now use a real bean bag! And life goes on . . . Our commen goal is comming ever closer and due to the administrative changes in both academics and clinic our class will graduate with more knowledge, exper- ience, and professionalism than any before us. We have seen several changes in our years, not all, but most, positive, working towards molding us into the New Gen- eration Optometristn. As we look ahead to fourth year and graduation we can hope to excel in clinic and look forward to the last day in our scholastic careers when they bestow upon us the hard earned degree Doctor of Optometry.
