The demands and challenges of the optometric curriculum can cause stress and fatigue. As the Class of 1984 complete the re- quirements for the Doctor of Optometry degree, I trust that the satisfaction gained from a job well done over shadows any negative emotions. My desire, as Dean, is thatuthe basic optometric skills taught at ICO prove to be an adequate foundation for your profes- sional growth. I wish the best to each member of the Class of 1984 as you embark on your exciting career. John A.
