The time con- sumed, now past, seems short but the knowledge gained will remain indefinitely as the keystone of our future. Each year, each graduating class undoubtedly feels much the same and their clinical internship is their guiding light in the dark beginning but in l956 we were doubly blessed: for that year, for the first time, we were two schools in one. The union of Chicago College and Northern lllinois College brought together the teachings and avenues of thought of both institutions and their methods of prac- tical application in the clinic situation. Two clinics have been maintained, each with its own staff, but with student interns serving both. We are truly grateful to the staffs of both clinics for the practical knowledge they have given us.
