Maiors Learn Skills, Economics of Farm lndustry Ag students take a field trip to observe soybean va- rieties in their growing environments. To fulfill the educational needs for the fu- ture farmers of the Corn Belt, a thorough pro- gram of Agricultural Occupations was estab- lished. Maiors in this division of study learned how to produce greater yields and how to manage the business of farming. This year they were able to enter new programs of ag- ricultural mechanics and ag marketing. One of the most beneficial innovations was the summer occupational training program, supervised summer employment designed to provide students with practical experience in farm p r o cl u c t i o n or farm management situations. The Ag Occupations Division, under Chair- man William Martinie, attracted about one- fourth of its freshmen from outside the junior college district. i I J i i specimen. Group Participation Encourages College ldentity Working and being a part of an organiza- tion fulfills a dream to see a project accom- plished. Yet, without sincere interest on the part of those involved, no task can be suc- cessfully completed. In our thirst for the dream of tomorrow, we must not neglect the miracle of today. This is the challenge we must meet by coming to- gether in an attempt to communicate the wants and needs of other students. The progress of the common bond of work- ing together is gaining momentum, and the years ahead will see great strides in an even greater united spirit. j Today's dreams seem like the ultimate, but we know from past experience that today's t dreams will be but a mere shadow of to- t it t morrow's reality.
