New Business Courses Meet Expanding Needs Enthusiastic concern of students and inter- ested area businessmen lead to an expansion of Business Occupations curriculum. New courses this year were business law, principles of insurance, tax accounting, introduction to business measurement, Interstate Commerce Commission law, transportation and traffic management, machine shorthand, and legal secretarial procedures. Under the chairmanship of Raymond Franz, business courses were structured to help stu- dents make the transition from the classroom to the office. Besides the usual programs of study in secretarial and accounting fields, Mid- Management and Office Occupations pro- grams featured opportunities for work experi- ence as well as classroom training. A one-year certificate program was also available for those seeking clerk-typist skills. 1.--1 1-l Before transcribing a letter from a dictation machine, Mary Jane Eagle reviews correct letter forms.
