Basketball, Volleyball Highlight First Girls Competitive Sports Competitive sports were introduced to girls this year in new intramural basketball, vol- leyball and bowling programs. Participants in basketball developed untried skills for use in games with G.A.A. teams from area high schools. In volleyball, the Spikers dominated the three-team league with a 7-0 record. Rhonda Redd and Ann Scherer held top aver- ages among women bowlers. Lynn Hurd ot Buckwheat and Her Gang slaps vol- leyball over the net as barefoot Joan Carey ot the champion Spikers braces to hit it back. 54 Brenda Byerline gets caught up by opponent fol- lowing field goal attempt.
