l t Students Earn Money During Spare Hours Besides pulling grades in school, many stu- dents worked part-time for a variety of reasons. Some needed money to finance their activities, some sought valuable experience in their fields of interest, some wanted to be of service to others, and a few just like to keep busy. No matter how much they were paid or how important their work was, the future of most of the students was affected. , W,1tt'j,,,.,u , 1' ' IQ:-:f:ggQg!g3E,:j V11 H I P.,-,....--W-P Peyton Harris is employed by the admissions office to interest under-privileged people in the opportuni- ties for self-improvement through college education. Ted Bailey spends a great deal of time working be- hind the counter and keeping things in order in the Student Center. By doing odd iobs on campus such as shoveling snow, Pat Langan proves his willingness to work hard.

Adding Machine Stim ulates Thought The combined efforts of ICC students and the Peoria Players resulted in the stimulating production of Elmer Rice's Adding Machine. Even though the play was written in 1922, Rice aptly predicted the problems that people like Zero would have during the computer age. Under the direction of Don Marine, the play was up-dated so that the audience could re- late to the action and to the characters. By combining the medium of the stage with that of motion pictures, the characters' inner thoughts and desires were proiected as they spoke their lines. The dramatic and somewhat bizarre make-up allowed the actors to lose themselves in the characters they portrayed.
