3:22 -K ' ,sn 5 .1 ,I I Creative Arts Club Working to promote fine arts on campus and in the surrounding area, members of the Creative Arts Club ushered at musical con- certs, set up art exhibits and attempted to call attention to performances of the arts in the Peoria area. During the year the club pre- sented Le Collage , a coffeehouse-type pro- gram of folk music, poetry reading and art films. The spring semester was highlighted by a trip to Champaign to attend the Festival of Contemporary Arts . The advisor for the club CREATIVE ARTS CLUB OFFICERS: Jack Hedden, treasurer, Claudia Jordan, secretary, Dave Liden, president, Maureen McLinden, vice president. ,,'s? ,f -x Twe was Betty Calkins. ITLMTIQIIE OCEAN CLUB OFFICERS: Kevin Heck, vice president, Judy president, George Powell, secretary-treasurer. nty students interested in the culture language of France formed the French under the new name, Le Cercle Francais. Masters served as advisor to the club. this was the first year for the club, projects were successfully completed. During the year Le Cercle Francais took a field trip to the Art Institute and had a Christmas dinner meeting in which the club participated in customs of the French people. Members of the Forensic Union participated DELTA PHI SIGMA. Advisor Jim Swayme, Bill McLaughlin, Dan Farrell, James Brownfield, A. B. Rudy, Walter Stephens, John Schurter, Bill Allison, Tom Sharpe, Fred Olson, Dave Zeigler, Mike Egli, Advisor John Westley. Delta Phi Sigma The first professional fraternity for data processing students was organized this year to provide programs of service and education to supplement the regular undergraduate pro- gram and to promote a favorable relationship with the local business community. Officers for the year were John Schurter, president, A. B. Rudy, vice president, Tom Sharpe, treasurer, Jeanette Woods, recording secretary. -UQ' FORENSIC UNION. Front row: Kris Swanson, Joyce Furlong, Georgia House, Linda Lewis, Shirley Perley. Row 2: Richard Ruskusky, William McQuire, Scott Fabry, Jim Reeves, Frank Evans, David MacKay, Art Sarver, Advisor Kenneth Camp, Forensic Union fi 'l-lv in competition this year at several speech tournaments on college campuses. The first speech tournament of the year was at Bradley University Nov. 22, and all members of the group took high honors. Individual events in- cluded oral interpretation, oratory, after-din- ner speaking, radio broadcasting and ex- temporaneous speaking. Advisors were Ken- neth Camp and William Hahn.

Phi Beta Lambda Phi Beta Lambda, the business fraternity on campus, is open to any student enrolled in a business course. The group became an active independent organization during the first se- mester with 'I7 charter members. Officers for the year were Gloria DeFoe, president, Diane Groeper, secretary, and Mel Lindstrom, treasurer. ' 'eras-5 iiii :ffm ' Young Republicans Young Republicans were active in the fall of the year at the time of the Presidential election. Students interested in political processes comprised the group.
