Inexperience and key injuries were instrumental in forming Ilion s 1 win - 7 loss record. Coaches john Call, Martin Manion, and Joseph Nicolette had Bob Heneka, Wes Lints fthe co-captainsj, Tom Bracken, Russ Markley, Bart Moore, Vince Bonvino, and Dave Haggarty as the only returning lettermen around which to mold a team. During the season Sam Geragi suffered a broken hand and Bob Hamilton a broken leg, reducing the effectiveness of the team. The lone victory came at Little Falls with a 26-6 win paced by fullback Bob I-Ieneka. In spite of much hard work, the frosh team, coached by Mr. Bernard Mur- ray and r. William Murphy, had a disappointing season with an 0-5 record. 1.
