iO frauds Martin fludy Sutton Miss Judy Sutton is being recognized for being La Plata County Fair Queen for the summer of 85. Judy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Sutton. Judy has been a 4-H member for ten years. She is actively involved with the program. Judy was chosen from the La Plata County council after she gave a speech in front of them. She was chosen from a total of eight girls. When asked what she had gotten out of the program, she said, It takes hard work and being responsible, but it was worth it. Francis Martin, our seventeen-year-old senior exchange student from Switzerland, is here to experience American life. Fie will be here until July 24. 1986. He will be graduating with many friends and honors from Ignacio High School with the class of '86. Francis related how he was chosen as an exchange student. He described it as a mountain of forms to fill out and many people to talk to and out of numerous candidates, Francis was chosen to come. When asked if it was difficult for him to leave Switzerland, he said, No, absolutely not.” At first he missed Switzerland, but now, most of the time, he doesn't miss it. Francis said he couldn't say at this point in time whether he will be happy to go back to Switzerland. When asked what he missed the most about Switzerland, he said mountains and school lunches. Francis has done extensive skiing here and in his own country. Francis also has two brothers in Switzerland. When he gets home, Francis wants to extend his schooling and maybe one day become an English teacher or an engineer. Francis has been a very special person in our senior class and we will all remember him and all the crazy things he has said. It is a very special privilege to have an exchange student in our school and in our senior class especially one like Francis. Thank you, Francis, for being such a unique person. We will never forget you.
