Our Theme . . . Cross Roads We have travelled lifes highway-a road of changing seasons, of uncertain weather. There have been storms that have threatened to divide us, but always we have stood firm, and walked on, united, and the sun returned to shine on us again. Ahead on the horizon lies a Crossroad-and here must part and choose a different path. Our trails will be as individual as we are ourselves, and we must weather the storms alone and walk on, proud and tall, into the sun again. The squad of 18 (11 varsity, 7 JV) began their season by winning, the Grand Champion Camp at Ft. Lewis in July. The spirit and confidence gained at this camp seemed to carry out to the whole school. W ith the spirit and pride that they have shown all of IHS, these ladies desene a big hand for a job well done. 34 Fall Sports Cheerleaders Nancy Lopez, Dorothy Lucero, Jenny Lane, Susan Lopez, Anita Haga. The seniors were strong, provided great leadership, and just generally held the team together. Anyone would ask for a ātalkā whenever they felt it was needed and I feel that that factor really pulled us all together and made us a team. Vo matter how far down we were in a game, they all believed in themselves enough to pull it out most of the time ā and when they weren't able to do that, they learned from that also. I love these ladies and will always hold a special place in my heart for them. Love Ferg. The IHS Volleyball team experienced their best year ever in 1981. With a 16-5 record, they accomplished many goals such as Sub-District Champs, District Champs, and Third Place in the entire state. It was quite a year for Coach Ferguson and the Lady āCats and we congratulate you on your accomplishments. 39 TD Trails To Victory Varsity: Top row L to R; Coach Mark Huff my er, Coach John Huffmyer, T. This record does not indicate the dedication and effort the young team put into the season. Youth was a key word for the team this year with only 4 returning Senior Lettermen. The Bobcats did well in the Southern Peaks Teague toting. Wide Receiver Larry Burch, the Stateās leading A A receiver, was toted to first team offense as well as Junior running Back Kip Palmer. Seniors Rocky Cundiff and Vince Martinez made second team offense with Troy Hott, Tom Silva, Joe Gallegos and Tom A Hires receiving honorable mention Honors. The boys captured the Southern Beaks League Title for the first time in four years. The team was led with a quick pace and expertise outside shooting which in turn chalked up points for the Bobcats. The squad was relatively young with only one starting Senior along with three Juniors and a Sophomore. Varsity Boys Basketball Top Row, L-R, M. Coriz, T. Alires, J. Martinez, L. Burch, J.
