Mr. Crawford was short, quiet, and skinny. Mr. Vaughan blew the school house up in Chemistry. Claude knew enough to blow it up. J. D. didn’t know how to say bloat. Olin was an English teacher. Mrs. Slaughter was a Miss 777 (censored) Ralph didn't have a temper. THIS WOULD RESULT: He would just pull it out again. Maybe Gus would teach English. We would have our way. Wanted--New Chemistry teacher. He would teach Chemistry instead of General Science. He would say Honhock. All sophomores would pass English. Censored also. Brady would still be in Civics all the time. WHAT IF NO ANSWERS. Tommy could pass without Sue. Dixie couldn't get anymore Brownie Points. John couldn't brag. Chris wasn't a flirt. Janiece was a thief. June, Florine, Hope, and Evelyn would go with Seniors. Again, it is with the greatest of pleasure and pride that I extend my greetings through the pages of the Wildcat to the student body of the Idalou Elementary and High School. It has been a unique pleasure to see the first grade class of 1947-48 finish as Seniors of the Idalou High School. These twelve years have moved along rather rapidly. I have watched you grow physically, mentally, and spiritually. I hope that you can look back over the years with many lovely memories, and with the satisfaction that you have done nothing less than your best. Congratulations to the Wildcat Staff for a job well done. Your book will be appreciated more and more as the years pass along. I am indeed grateful to the Elementary School Faculty, to the student body, and to our fine parents for the cooperation and loyalty you have shown in making 1958-59 a successful and enjoyable year.
