C. Derrick, Secretary of Board, Robert Collier, Bill Becton and Medford Weaver. DEDICATION To the Idalou School Board, and to our School Superintendent, Mr. Merle Walker, who have worked together so diligently and unselfishly in building a school plant to meet the needs of the Idalou Community, we dedicate this 1953 edition of the WILDCAT. Yet there is also a gladness and joy in my heart; because I feel that in some small way I might have helped you prepare for the life that lies ahead. Your spirit, enthusiasm, courage, and youthful fragrance inspired me to do my best each day to help my students, and friends. Yes, we have had some problems to solve, and it was because of your fine attitude and willingness to do your part that we have been able to solve all our problems in a friendly and satisfactory manner. Among my most cherished memories will be the Senior Class of the Idalou High School for 1952-53; because I consider each of you a very dear friend. Sincerely, Merle Walker Dear Seniors, Again you are to be congratulated for a job well done. The diligence with which you have attacked every task during your high school career is a virtue which will serve you well in other phases of your life. My wish for each of you is that the future will bring to you an abun- dance of health, happiness, and the other desirable things for a good life. May you always recall these days with pleasure, knowing that they have been well spent. It is your privilege to receive your scholastic training in the finest system in the world. Where are students allowed choices of studies as in America? It is hoped that you will preserve, improve, and enlarge the program for the future so that American principles and ideals may prevail. It has been a pleasure to work with each and every student. As you march onward and forward, I hope that you continue to keep your heads high, your hearts right, and your hands full. Thus you will achieve what is rightfully yours. Your friend, G. 0.
