Sixth row: Tom Knickle- bine, Hal Maxey, William Green, and Bob Boyle. American institute of Architects The A.I.A. is a nationally affiliated organization of architectural students. During the past year the students met once a week at which time there was either a Elm or a guest speaker. Some of the guest speakers were Bill Shields of the I.S.U. Sociology department, John Clawson, Vice-President of Idaho Bank and Trust Companyg and Jay Pace, a Twin Falls designer. The students once a year go on a week long trip to a different part of the West. Last year they went to Los Angeles. This year the A.I.A. went to Seattle, Washington. Along with the long distance trip there were several Saturday trips to such places as Boise, Salt Lake, and Ogden. On April 22, the architectural students participated in Earth Day by building a shelter, in which they had their displays. 63

The Associated Engineers of I.S.U. are affiliated with the Idaho Society of Engineers. They are also associated with the National Society of Professional Engineers. The group is composed of students from all the engi- neering courses in Vo-Tech. This past spring they held their annual picnic on May 9th. Another of their activities was Engineering Day. During this time high school seniors from Pocatello and surrounding towns were invited to look over the Engineer- ing Department in order to stimulate their interest in the courses offered. Many new engineering students are ac- quired through Engineering Day.

Blue Key is a11 organization that is open by invitation to all men students with high grade point averages. The group seeks to promote sound appreciation of academic scholarship. This past Fall the Blue Key held its Initiation Banquet. In the Spring the Blue Key members participated with Circle K in running the Col- lege Bowl in the Quad Lounge.
