President davis He is never too, busy for a friendly smile. Dr. Davis and his lovely wife seld-om miss any campus event. William E. CBudJ Davis, Idaho State University's president, has become a well known and greatly respected citi- zen of Pocatello since coming here in the fall of 1965. This remarkable man who was student body president at the University of Colorado and a varsity football letterman, as well as an out- standing student there, came to us from the University of Wyom.ing. Dr. Davis is the author of Glory Colorado! , a history of the University of Colorado, and was listed in Outstanding Young Men of America for 1964-65. At the University of Wyoming he was on the Administrative Council as well as nu- merous boards and committees. President Davis brought to ISU a new spark of enthusiasm. Youth has be- come the key word-a young president, helping a young university to grow. Here at ISU we are Very proud of our president!

Once again I welcome with pleasure your invitation to submit a brief message for inclusion in the Wickiup. Whether or not ,such messages have occurred with enough frequency to be considered tradi- tional, certainly the yearbook itself has become an ISU tradition in the finest sense of the word. As the official record of another significant chapter in the history of a growing institution, the 1967 Wickiup offers pictorial evidence of the university's continuing growth and development . . . another year of physical campus expansion . . . new study, programs . . . rising enrollments .6 . . and the largest class ever to graduate from the institution. All this is now history, however. We can take justifiable pride in the accomplishments of 1966-67, particularly as we pause here to recall these events in the pages of the yearbook, but we cannot rest upon our laurels. We must continue to improve and todevelop programs which will meet the needs of greater numbers of Idaho's young people. W Those of you whoreturn in the fall will have an opportunity to aid in compiling still another chapter in the history of Idaho State University, and we look forward to your continued interest and assistance. To those of you who are graduating, we wish you well in your endeavors, and we hope you will continue to demonstrate the same warm personal interest in the university and its future. May this yearbook serve as a cherished memento of this year of your life at Idaho State University and as a reminder in years to come of the role you have played in becoming a part of its proud traditions. ' . , William Davis, President - A .
