Starting with a group of inexperienced players, our new coach, Y. Nicolds, developed a flashy team. Although outweighed in every contest, those mighty little Tigers put up a scrappy fight and brought many thrills to the spec- tators of the gridiron. Schwartzenberger and Taki, swiveled- hipped halfbacks, rounded the ends and bucked the line for a total of twelve touchdowns. The success of the aerial attack was due to our ends, Williams, Hovermale and Undh- jem, who brought the fans to their feet many times with brilliant catches. On the defense our guards, Briggs, Gray and Jones, stopped many of the opponents' touchdown threats. A fact not to be overlooked was the punting of Kent Undhjem, whose average was the best in the state. To top the season off, 'QSchwartz and Briggs were named to the official all-state team selected by the coaches. Prior to the Pocatello game, Frank Kissner and Jim Hovermale were elected co-captains by vote of their teammates.
