I g Superintendent In a very short time the 1957-1958 school term will be history. The remaining school days will be spent in saying goodbye to our seniors and concluding the year's work. Many of you - perhaps most of you - don't know what you will be doing in your future careers. My own life has been full of surprises and Isuspect many of yours will be, too. You can pre- pare for these surprises and opportimlties by getting the best liberal education it is possible for you to have, with special attention to the full development of the basic skills which are needed in practically all walks of life. Iwould say that you will have achieved a GOOD education if you have a sense of values thought- fully evolved - if you have the basic skills and abilities generally needed to do the world'swork - if you have a fair amount of classified and ordered knowledge - if you find satisfaction in work and play and enjoyment in the good things of life - you may, and an educated person often does - possess specialized competence in some particular field of knowledge or activity. A liberal education, formal - or gained the hard way by personal observation and individual study - is a sine qua non of a full life. Let me congratulate you on being a student in the Idabel Schools. I hope that you realize how great your opportunities are, and have been, and that you will take full advantage of them. On behalf of the faculty and the administration of the Idabel Schools, may I say that lhope each and every one of you live in the 'full fruition of your heart's dearest hope, Cordially, Woodrow Holman l MR WOODROW HOLMAN
