Both positions carry requirements of high scholar- ship and character. The ur oses of the orvanization: to brin about a closer relationshi between the student bodv and the facultv, to P P es 5,4 I 4P , Q . encourage loyaltv to our school, to promote the spirit of unity and cooperation among the students of ldabel High, and -to provide an agency for the promotion and supervision of student activities. The Student Council corresponds to the legislative bodies of the nation in that we set the rules and provide for improve- ments in school properties and school life. The student elections, which are held annually at the close of the second semester. are sponsored and conducted by the Student Council. These elections are verv colorful with posters and campaign speeches in a special assembly. H. S. During the past years, the department has participated in the Kiamichi Conference and has won many honors. This year, as always, the department presented its semi-annual recitals with the participation of many students.
