In forming our 1970 yearbook, we have decided to use some new ideas. For this reason, we have chosen collage as our yearbook theme. Our collage represents an area that has been neglected in earlier year- books - and an area that is just as impor- tant and meaningful to a student as school - the outside world. We feel that everything affects us in some way and is important in shaping our attitudes toward the world, making each of us an individual collage, part of the total collage that is the Class of 1970.

He demands lOO o from his team ... and commands their respect ... DEDICATION The least that can be said about Gordie” Van Buren is that he is an outstanding coach. This is evident, but his performance of routine coach- ing duties is surpassed by his devotion to the team. He demands - and usually gets - IQCPJo from the boys. He commands the respect of his team, as their leader, but he also receives it as a person, for his willingness to help with any problems they might have, even outside the realm of sports. In this way and many others, he is devoted to the team, and to the whole school. A small man, Coach “Gordie Van Buren achieves his stature not in the eyes but in the minds of those who surround him. For this reason, we dedicate our 1970 Legend to you, 5
