af L S ga, Sbecbcafion Rarely in a lifetime is one privileged to know an individual who possesses a driving ambition, an awareness of self, of others, of inevitable progress, a sense of dignity, a thirst for knowledge, and a selfless nature. Yet two generations ,of Terrell High students have worked and studied with one so rare, Mrs. Hazel Harvey Peace With a firm hand and wise counseling, she molds the lives of.. hundreds of students every year , and for eight hours each day con- cerns herself with the individual welfare of every pupil. Though she may not realize it, she inspires many of her temporary charges to aspire to the limit of their potential. She does not reach each student with her perennial message of achievement, but those whom she does affect remain eternally grateful for having known, even briefly, Mrs. Peace. Because of her profound interest in young students and her undying faith in the worth of a sometimes-wayward, often-impul- sive generation, the 1965 Panther staff dedicates this yearbook to Mrs. Peace. And with this dedication travels the hope that the corridors of I. M. Terrell will long echo her firm guidance and profound Wisdom . THE 1965 PANTHER STAFF

We believe that every child should be an acceptable as well as a contributing member of society. Our Objectives are: to develop habits of good citizenship through an understanding of democratic principlesg to develop sound mental and physical health, to give guidance and direction that will enable pupils to choose wisely the vocation from which they can give the most effective serviceg to develop within the individual a sense of responsibility for his actions and respect for the spiritual values of life. Outcome: We hope that there will be a definite evidence that pupils will have developed, by the time they finish high school, desirable skills, habits, knowledge, understandings, abilities, and appreciations to the extent that they will be able to make in- telligent life adjustments in our American Way of Life.
