FOREWORD In this modern and scientific era, it is vitally important that we exercise our potentials to the utmost. Today, there is a demand for brilliant young minds in many fields. Present day students have such opportunities that it seems almost impossible that our country would have a lack of so many competent persons especially in the field of science. But we haven’t lost all hopes yet. Perhaps somewhere in this book between the classes of ’60 and ’63 there will be found a worker or designer of some of our most internationally known mis- siles and scientific developments. We do hope that students today are taking their subject mat- ter seriously. It is imperative that our young minds be fully devel- oped rather than let a lack of ambition prove detrimental to our society. For the classes of ’61, ’62, and ’63, it means a continuation of secondary work. So make those years successful ones. For the class of 1960, high school is but an image in the past and a recollection of many high school activities that we do not want to forget so readily. In order that all of us at Norcom may recall the 1960 activi- ties in later years, the yearbook staff has worked diligently, hoping to make these activities pleasant memories. This memory book contains information from the first kick- off at Portsmouth Stadium on September 12th, when the Mighty” Greyhounds defeated East Suffolk 27-0, ’til the glorious June night of graduation. With sincere gratitude to everyone who aided us, the year- book staff sincerely hopes that you will consider this book of mem- ories a total success.
