Class Poem Ol ' R FAREWELL The time has come to say “So long”, Our high school days have really gone; ' I ' here were times we all have felt This date for us would not be kept; The day when our lives would seem to change, hen we ' d go into things deeper and strange. II. ' e ' ll miss the teachers who strove each day ' I ' o help us in every possible way; W e all know that they did their best d ' o make our school life a radiant success. We thank them from down deep in our souls For the way they helped us reach our goals. III. Heavy are our hearts and weary our minds. When we think of leaving dear Norcom behind; .A school that has helped us in every way, We really regret this sad, sad day. But hoping success to under classmen, we’ll part. Knowing we’ll miss them within our hearts. (Composed by Peggy Wilson) The Tragedy of Graduation (With apologies to Shakes peare) By Jacqueline Simmons Is this a diploma which I see before me, The ribbon blowing out toward my hand? Come, let me clutch thee. I have thee not, and yet I see thee still. Art thou not, fatal vision, sensible To feeling as to sight? Or art thou but . ' diploma of the mind, a false creation. Proceeding from the test-oppressed brain? I see thee yet, in form as palpable . ' s that which I desire. d ' hoLi marshal’st me the way that I should go. .And such a prize I’d surely like to have. . I ine eyes are made the fools o’ the other senses, Or else worth all the rest; I s e thee still, .And on thy pages are written words of wisdom. Which were not so before. I’here’s no such thing; It is the hard test we’ve had, that informs Thus to mine eye.
