Basketball The Hyndman Hornets of the 1954-55 season were faced with the task of equaling the feat of the 1953-54 team, inasmuch as the 53-54'ers won the District 5, Class C Championship. In the Inter-district play-off, District 6's Southmont defeated Hyndman. In individual scoring, Bruce May set a tri-state area record by amassing a total of 649 points. On November 2, the call for candidates was issued by Coach Stoner, and when the first game was played on December 3, there were twenty-nine members on the Varsity and Junior- Var sity squad. The high scorer for the team is Terry Rizer with 257 points and Charles Robosson has 212. Robos son is also the leading foul shooter with a . 569 mark followed by Dennison with . 530. As of February 14, the Hornets have swept the two game series with Rockwood, Smith, Carver, Salisbury, and the Alumnig split with Shade, Paw Paw, and Bedfordg single wins over Mt. Savage and The West Virginia School of the Deafg and a double loss to LaSalle. With this record of sixteen wins and six losses there are four more games to play.
