ORK SCHOLARSHIP Much of the day-to-day work at Hyles-Anderson College is done by the work scholarship students. Over five hundred students at Hyles-Anderson | are in the work scholarship program. It ‘ is impossible to be at Hyles-Anderson College without having one’s life effect- ' ed by the efforts of the many who are i on work scholarship. As your day be- gins in the morning and as you step outside a dormitory, the floors and win- dows have been cleaned by scholarship students. As you go to the dining hall, the bakery girls prepare the cinnamon rolls for breakfast. The cooks prepare the rest of the breakfast. The waitresses serve. And, of course, the custodians have helped clean the dining hall prior to your coming. After leaving there and going to the classroom, one can’t help but notice the trash has been emptied and the blackboards have been cleaned. | Once again, by the work scholarship students. Other areas of your life are inevitably effected, such as the activi- ties’ program put on by the Activities Department each Friday and Saturday night. Also effected is the riding in bus- es by the young ladies to and from church in which the young men have helped to prepare and drive the buses. The Print Shop runs off the tests and | the Post Office sorts the mail, and, most | importantly, the care packages from | home. Even down to the night hours when the students are sleeping, there are students on work scholarship who | monitor the halls checking for any problems or any emergency that might come up while the majority of us are at home asleep in bed. We are extremely thankful for the tremendous job done by the work schol- arship students. Listed below are the various departments in which work scholarship students play a key part: Activities, Bus Maintenance, Bakery, Buckets-n-Bows, Clinic, Dining Hall, Library, Liberty Square, Monitors, Peddler’s Way, Post Office, Print Shop, Secretarial, and Security.
