OPENING DAY, 1979 THE OPENING DAY OF THE 1979-1980 SCHOOL YEAR WAS FILLED WITH EXCITEMENT. : wal i ° fee e te . “4 nay Students returned who had been gone all summer, and many new students arrived. Horse and buggy rides, hot-air balloon rides, and a special meal were but a part of the fun and joy experienced on this first day. Students, faculty, and staff members were welcoming those who were new and showing each individual what to do and where to go. 1. A delicious meal of chicken, corn on the cob, peas, rolls, tossed salad, and ice cream is served. 2. Linda Jirovec enjoys her fried chicken. 3.
