- Graduation The highlight of every school year is the graduation service. The 1977 graduation saw 162 students graduate. Dr. Jerry Falwell from Lynchburg, Virginia, gave the commencement address. Graduation is a heart-rending service as many dear friends part, perhaps for a lifetime, each seeking to serve God and do His will for their lives. 1 Mrs. Hyles, Mrs. Sallee, and Mrs. Foster 2 Dr. Falwell talks with Earl Little, one of the doctorate candidates. 8 Dr! P ICNIC MAY 19, (9717 Senior — Faculty Picnic Thursday afternoon after graduation rehearsal, a senior-faculty picnic was held. The meal consisted of fried chicken, potato salad, baked beans, ice cream, and other delicious picnic foods. After the picnic Dr. Russell Anderson, Co-founder of Hyles- Anderson College, spoke a word of advice and challenge to the seniors. Also Mr. Godfrey gave each student a copy of one of his books. 1 Picnic ticket 2 Faculty, seniors, and their families and friends wait in line for food. 8 Belinda Reed, Mr. Mitchell, and Reggie Garrett serve the ice cream. 4 The Russell Anderson family enjoys the picnic. 5 Clowns with balloons and southern belles added to the delight of the picinc. 6 Dr. Anderson addresses the seniors in the chapel.
