C. High I3 Hyde Park 0-Brighton 20 Hyde Park 0-East Boston 40 Hyde Park 13-Icrmcica Plain 6 The Blue Star footballers started the season off Well with a l9-l3 victory over Roxbury Memorial. The next game against Boslindale lost us the services of Captain lack Carey and this hampered the offense for the rest of the season. After a good though losing game against BC. High, Hyde Park played its best game of the season against a rugged outfit from South Boston, Although we lost by a close score to the eventual City Champions, our boys thrilled the crowd by a magnificent offensive and defensive display. The Blue Stars got back on the winning track in the final game against our old rival, Iamaica Plain, winning a closely contested match 13 to 6. Outstanding in the backfield were Carey, Iohnny Nisbet, Timmy DelConte, Dick Dami, and lack Moran. Our ends, Bobby Burke and Dick Bleiler, were the best pair in the Districts, Frank Elchuck was out- standing at center and was probably the best ball passer in the city, Iohnny Andreasse provided the spark in the line and literally knocked himself out game after game to keep the Blue Stars in the con- test. Other good players in the front line Were Iack Soper, Frank Pulera, Tom Flaherty, Dick Cusick, Dick Feeley, and lim McDonald. The kicking of Larry lacobanis often kept the enemy at bay. The layvees held their own with a l-2-l record. Clam!! N 'X In Second Row: Shippey, Mgr., Rob. Walsh, Armour, Duffy, Coach Ed Murphy, Iacobariis, Rich.
