Row 1: Helene Cranbyg Ann Buckley. lrbrary The capable librarian staff at Hyde Park High School is efficiently run by Mrs. Jones, Mrs. Christiansen, and Mrs. Withrow. They try to the best of their ability to aid stu- dents in selecting books, and instructing pupils on proper usage of reference books and catalogues. Without a doubt the librarians aid students in every Way to become better citizens by encouraging them to read fine books offered in our library. 22 Ofhke Secretaries Two of the busiest places in Hyde Park High School are the North and South offices where you can always find a staff of eHicient clerks making out transcripts for colleges and uni- versities, completingandfilingstudents' records, issuing supplies to teachers, and answering the many questions of visitors and pupils. Students are al- ways welcome to visit these ofhces and to ask questions regarding the educa- tional administration. The whole school population owes this staff un- limited appreciation for keeping our records in such good order that our future colleges or employers may refer to them several years from now. Each class has its officers who are elected through a demo- cratic procedure. Each candidate is nominated by petition and elected by registered voters. Through these oflicers students make their wishes known concerning class activities. The oflicers gain experience in practical politics during their election campaigns and leader- ship training in conducting class assemblies. At these assemblies students are advised to take courses which will aid them in future occupations or prepare them for college. They are also informed about different activities in which they may find the opportunity to ex- press their talents and interests. As each class progresses, it continually develops a dehnite class spirit which reaches its peak in the com- mittee projects of the senior year. ,f 7, tg X Z
