EDUCATIONAL ADMINISTRATION Hyde Parlc High School is not only an institution of learning but also a vast community. Lilte any other community, it has its head official, ours being our principal, Mr. George Olson. His head- quarters are the North Ottice from which he sees that everything runs smoothly throughout the school. The secondary headquarters are the South Offices where our assistant principal, Mr. Ralph Small, carries on his own duties and helps lighten the load of the principal. Here also all the school records are lcept accurate and up to date by a very efficient staff of clerlcs. Our grade advisors act as Hservants ot the people who help the students in any problems concerning classes, programs, sequences, attendance, and any other way in which they can. The students are offered a large number of subjects which will aid them in a Future occupation or as prerequisites For college. Everyone must talce English which consists not only of grammar, but also of literature, poetry, and other interesting topics. Our science depart- ment is quite extensive since biological and physical sciences are offered. Our mathematics course is one of the only tour year courses otfered in the Chicago high schools. Four languages are otteredf Spanish, French, Latin, and German, which give a lcnowledge of the customs and history of people in other lands in addition to the language itself. There is quite a variety of social and commercial subjects at Hyde Parlc which include typing, short-hand, commercial law, civics and several histories. Although art and music are re- quired, everyone Finds them interesting and the advanced classes give the students a chance to develop.
