Pleasant busincssl MR. OLSON ln every Indian tribe there is one person for whom all the members of the tribe show the greatest respect. He is their leader, the Big Chief. They obey his wishes, honor him, and above all, respect him. He is their guide and counselor. Our Big Chief, Nlr. George A. Olson has had wide experience and training. His early scho- lastic career included Lane and the Chicago Teacher's College and the University of Chi- cago. Mr. Olson rcccived his Masters Degree at Northwestern University. He was principal at various elementary schools, and in his spare time became President of the Chicago His- torical Society. Nlr. Olson has done a constructive job since his arrival last year and we owe him a big debt of thanks. He has proved himself to be a Wonderful Chief of our Aitchpe Tribe. a':Courlesy of Vlvoodlawn Booster. Poster winners 16

1 . . . and in regard tow NIR. SMALL Besides having a Big Chief, every tribe must have a Medicine Man. The Medicine lNlan carries on some of the duties of the chief, as well as his own, those of ridding the tribe of evil spirits. Mr. Ralph L. Small is our Medicine Man. Although he graduated from a rival tribe, Englewood, we forgive him because he has done such an efficient job here at Hyde Park. Mr. Small, also, went to the University of Chicago where he majored in Physics, and received his B.S. and M.S. The Medicine Mau taught for twenty-two years at Lindbloom where he was head of the science department, and then at South Shore before he became our Assistant Principal. Highway Robbery 17
