4 . V 7 QQTPVV' . ff WM J fr Mf ll u THEME Brotherhood and Unityithe association of men and the ability to work in harmony-these two qualities which go into the ad- ministration of Hyde Park have been taken by Aitchpe for its 194-9 theme. Since the democratic principles found in the Indian tribe are the underlying factors of these qualities and since our name-AITCHPE-seems to refer to an Indian tribe, the main sections of this book have been contrasted to the Indian way of life. The art work, also, at the beginning of each section has been made to represent the activities of the tribe by symbolic associa- tion with an Indian tribe. The Aitchpe Tribe was given a new leader in the person of Big Chief George A. Olson during May of 1948. In the following fall Medicine Man Ralph L. Small, from South Shore High School, was made assistant to the Big Chief. Since then the tribe has experi- enced an important reorganization which has proven very bene- ficial to the entire tribe. The administrative council, also, has gone through many important changes in order that it may give the Big Chief, Medicine Man, and the rest of the tribe the help that is so vitally needed. This year a new branch of student government has been formed from the squaws and braves, in order that they may have a hand in bettering the tribe and helping the administrative council. They are known as the executive and regular councils. Thus faculty and students participate in the efficient organization through the Brotherhood and Unity existent at Hyde Park. ll If 'Wx , ,Ju J 4' ' I I 4 p, I I f f i 1 I' Q x l J ' x F , fl V 4' , 1 .I K . -1. .
