GERMAX CLUB Twenty years ago this semester the German Club was first established in Hyde Park High School for all interested in this language. Mrs. Randall, as the founder, has made hers one of the outstanding organizations of our school-city. It is an exponent of the self-government theory. This has been proved bv the great participation of the students in preparing programs for their own entertainment. These are planned around the various holidays. The games played and the refreshments served are appropriate for the season of the year and the holiday. Even the songs that are sung are selected with the idea of carrying out the theme of the day. The members increase their speaking ability of the language by conversing in German about the men who are remembered and distinguished on these days. In this manner freedom of speech is carried out to its fullest extent. We are proud and fortunate to have this organization in our school. T GERMAN CLUB I: Row 4— V. Kermeen. B. J.inlan, F. Locher.
