','J .f ago.. if IN MEMORIAM An appreciation of the beauty of music which Oscar E. Robinson gave many of the Hyde Park students is a living memorial. His keen interest in people, his careful direction of the choruses, and his high standards of operettas gave Hyde Park its splendid musical reputa- tion. Bertha L. Farnam was a quiet, un- assuming person who had a wide knowl- edge of all scientific subjects. I a j DEDICATION Hello again . . . I wonder if you'd be willing to meet a really swell person .... I feel sure that you would .... Okay, then may I present to you Mr. Archibald Whittier Smalley .... Think you've seen him before? That's right, hels your as- sistant principal .... He plans all the programs, pacifies your parents when something goes wrong, . and also finds out just why you weren't in class the other day .... He is the one that really makes our school go around the way it does. Say, though, maybe you really donlt know him the way I-do?? I think Iill let you in on a little sumpin' .... He must have a secret desire to be a dancing teacher . . . yes . . . 'cause he really loves to dance .... Bet you didn't know that! . . . Did you know, too Cwhile I'm at itj '. . . that he takes little walks . . . why he just strolls downtown and back .... Think of that! Why some of you big, husky lettermen couldn't do that! . . . I, myself, couldnlt even do it .... Well . . . as for other hobbies .... Did you ever see that dreamy look in his eyes when he gazes out of the window? . . . He is just dating that little yellow Forsythia bush. Last year, shea was out a little earlier .... Then, too, if you've ever seen him with his eyes piercing the pages of a book, youlll know that hels back with the Romans trying to find the derivations of certain words .... If you can ever corner him in the corridor some time, you'll find that his children have brought him up very carefully . . . yes, he under- stands youth .... He may even explain to you how to square a number by alge- bra, as he did for me .... Sure he really is a swell person-is our grand little Atlas of the school .... I guess you real- ize it now .... And that's the reason that the Aitchpe Staff is dedicating this year's edition to him. Q . . It's a wonderful idea ...right?... , X ,iwef .Awww- Z6

Sure.-p. .come on. . .here's you chance to meet all the Faculty.. . .Theyyreally are a grand lot-all so human and delightful! This one you see talking is so much fun! She sponsors a club. And the one we just saw is an inspiration to any student! The whole school just seems to flock to her classes... . Oh, I suppose we could go on. . .you and I. . .shaking hands and meeting delightful personalities.. . .But then. . .you know how it is, always something to do around this school.. . .I-Ionestly, don't you think we have the best teachers in the whole world. . .almost the whole world anyway!
