PHYSICAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT The Physical Education department endeavors to train students to become good citizens and to build their health and characters so that they may achieve success in later life. Work in this department helps the student to develop judgment, tact, and initiative. It tends to improve the health of the community by improving that of the individual and to establish in the individual good health habits. The athletic effort also promotes the good sportsmanship necessary to any athletic contest and teaches each indiv'dual to vs ork in harmony vsith his fellow s. Tyyo periods of gymnasium yxork .acl' week are required of each student during his high school career. Boys who wish may try for various interscholastic teams. Girls engage in various intra-mural contests. 'w Tl-Hy FJCF MANUAL ART DEPARTMENT The curriculum of the teachers in the Manual Art department is varied Mrs Ingram is in charge of the lunchroom in the main building Miss Miller who is in charge ofthe lunchroom in the Branch also teaches Cooking and Sewing Miss I-Iighley teaches the Sewing classes in which the girls are taught to sew both by hand and machine to cut patterns and to fit garments Classes in Sewing are available to all the girls Instruction in all types of carpenter vxork is gnen under the able direction of good minds in healthy bodies and is taken in place of gym work Captain Fagan has charge of the Band in connection with the R O T C ,,..-nf 'ru Q f D A lf r r r v r r p . . , Sam +1sif-Eflf..
