PRINCIPALS' MESSAGE The last ten years seemed a long long tame as we lnved through them but a very short tame as we look back on them In the frfty four years of nts steady progress Mass Hutchlson s School has had nts share of trlal and trlbulatlon From nts beglnnlng In 1902 untll 1947 Mlss Hutchlson herself was the guiding person splrlt and light As this IS wrltten she as stlll lookang back on those forty flve years as If they were only a day No educator can sur pass her achievement Our ten years though arduous have been filled with a multitude of satlsfactlons From 1947 to 1952 we paid off the rest of the bonded undebtedness whlch enabled Miss Hutchison to build In 1925 By 1954 the conversuon to a non proflt educational founda tuon was completed Now we have enloyed three years under the control of a flne Board of Trustees who made possible the new gymnasnum and the lnbrary Wnth four hundred gurls and forty faculty and staff members we have adequate and comfortable shelter We have one other ambntnon for the present admnnlstratnon namely to pay the balance due on the library and new gymnasium Two fifths of the goal has been reached Our asm ns to secure the other three fufths an three years by 1960 The colleges for which we prepare students are continually ralslng their entrance requirements Most of them now require the College Board Examunatuons We are confndent that Hutchison gurls wlll contnnue to have the abulnty and wnll be properly educated to meet these hngher standards I . . . . , ' I 1 1 , . 1 1 - 1 1 I
